With the ever increasing popularity of tankless water heaters in the United States,
owners of these great products are finding out that in very hard water areas (where
water hardness level is above 11 grains per gallon) precautions need to take place
in order to protect their investment. A calcium buildup, a direct result of hard
water, will buildup in the heat exchanger over time. This will decrease efficiency,
restrict water flow and damage the tankless model itself.
